My Dad, Ian Michael Lysandrou quietly passed away on the 11th August 2022 at St Lukes, Sheffield.
Dad, Grandad, Ian was loved by family and friends and will be greatly missed. Whilst we all knew he had health issues until the last few years they didn’t stop him enjoying his fishing, a pint or a sausage sandwich! The last few years Dad was suffering with pain that did stop him fully enjoying being out ‘n about. Most recently a cancer diagnosis brought more discomfort.

After a recent long period in hospital Dad did get home as he wanted to - but his pain and discomfort was just too much. He felt very fortunate to get a bed in St Lukes where he felt comfortable, cared for and was in less pain. In his words ‘people would pay good money to spend time in a place like this.’

Sadly Dad only had a week in St Lukes and passed away in the early evening of the 11th August 2022. Family were with him that day and we were so glad he was calm and comfortable.

Dad knew the cost of such dignified care and that is why we have chosen to ask for donations to continue such care for others.
